Research Publication, Dissemination & Documentation Directorate (RPDDD)

The directorate is accountable for VPRCS & established as per the directive set by Wolaita Sodo university, research & community services vice president office in January 2018. The directorate is very much committed to accomplish all the duties and responsibilities towards the achievements of Mission, vision goals of WSU. The directorate works as the voice for vice president office of research, community services and technology transfer. Therefore, as set by the directive and also indicated by MOSHE guide line, the office has the following duties and responsibilities.

The major duties and responsibilities of the office includes but not limited to:

• Publishes research, research technology transfer & community services outputs;
• Disseminates the research outputs through various ways (i.e. journals, proceedings, webpage, conferences, workshops, public lectures, FM & Radio, etc.);
• Documents the research, technology transfer and community services outputs;
• Prepares manuals and leaflets with regard to research and community services;
• Develops specific guidelines & criteria for reviewing articles in line with WSU legislation;
• Prepares the designing & printing specifications for proceedings;
• Facilitates payments for authors, reviewers & editors of publications, workshops & other outputs dissemination services as per the guide set by MoSHE and/or WSU;
• Documents the project outputs, proceedings, annual reports regarding VPRCs;
• Creates and administers data bases (research, community services & technology transfer )
• Introduces new technologies to the community through various methods such as radio, TV etc.;
• Facilitates capacity building trainings, workshops regarding publications, documentation and disseminations in researches, community services and technology transfers.

Major achievements of the Office in 2013E.C

• Published & disseminated two proceedings (7^th and 8^th proceedings)
• Organized & successfully conducted the annual national workshops
• Published two major books which were the first in their kind in the history of WSU
  • One in local Language (Wolaita Doona/ Woalaitigna)
  • One in Amharic language
• Books were disseminated to all stakeholders
• Uploading of the 7^th & 8^th proceeding on the university webpages
