About

A well-experienced public health researcher and lecturer with over 15 years of experience in teaching higher education, supervising graduate and undergraduate students, conducting research and community services, and worked in different leadership positions such as dean of graduate studies, assistant registrar, and project management. Supervised over 30 graduate students' Thesis to completion and worked on a thesis examination and ethics review board, recruitment committee, editorial board, and journal reviewer. Developed graduate studies thesis and dissertation writing guidelines for Wolaita Sodo University. Developed a sustainable model (InteHTN/DM-HIV4PLWH)-integrated hypertension and diabetes with HIV care for PLWH at PHC facilities in Ethiopia based on the WHO- ICCC framework to address the chronic care needs of People living with HIV. Won 6 small grants and coauthored over 30 articles published in peer-reviewed, high-impact factor journals in public health and health system research. Have skills in quantitative, qualitative, mixed-method studies, and syntheses such as scoping review, systematic, and meta-analysis.

Research

My research focuses on strengthening primary healthcare systems, NCD and HIV, integrated chronic care, reducing health disparities, and concentrating on implementation sciences. He developed the InteHTN/DM-HIV4PLWH model, integrating hypertension and diabetes care with HIV services for people living with HIV in Ethiopia, based on the WHO ICCC framework. He has also been collaborating with scholars on GBD studies.
